HOW TO BUILD THE PERFECT CHEESE BOARD
Happy Fall everyone! It’s me again,
Katie from The Casual Craftlete. Today I am excited to
share with you a simple fall entertaining idea,
How To Build The
Perfect Cheese Board!
Party season is right around the
corner and I wanted to give you a few easy ideas to throw together a
simple cheese board that will please the crowds. As a mom, I like
to keep things simple and low key when it comes to having guests over.
Elaborate dinners are nice, but sometimes I like to put
together a beautiful cheese board for guest to munch on while you
have good conversation.
Of course, you can add whatever you like
to a cheese board. I think it must have the following three:
1. Cheeses
You must have great cheese on your
cheese board. I think pairing three perfect cheeses is all you
need. A strong cheese, like blue cheese. A sharp hard
cheese, like cheddar and a soft creamy cheese, like brie. These
are the holy trinity of cheeses. They are fairly inexpensive, if
you buy small quantities. Adding different textures and flavors is
the key to the perfect cheese board.
2. Crackers and
Bread
I like adding one good hard butter
cracker and a soft bread to the board. I know most of the time you
see a soft french bread but I really like the flavor from these mini rye
bread squares. They just add another amazing level of flavor.
3. Fruits and Nuts
Apples go great with cheese and I
like a tart Granny Smith apple. Simply cut the apples into slices.
Mixed nuts add a good crunch and also help mellow out the strong
cheese flavors. Last but not least, I recently made a all natural
cinnamon plum jam that adds sweetness.
Like I mentioned earlier, you can add
whatever you like to a cheese board. I just think this one is
perfect!
Cheers!
