Sharing is caring!

I adore this cute DIY Rope Basket that I whipped up on a rainy afternoon. Rope basket with plantLittle things can make me happy. I made cute little things like these delightful rope baskets the other day to keep my remote controls in one place. I am currently working on a new living room design, and I envisioned our new room with lots of layers, textures, and a little bohemian infusion. I bought a new jute rug and layered it with a shag rug in the room, so I thought a cute rope basket would make a perfect home for my remote controls and fit into my design plan. After the first DIY rope basket was done, I soon realized that I needed more of these baskets as I could use them to organize many other things around the house. A little extra organizing can go a long way. Another bonus is that it’s a straightforward and quick DIY that you can tackle literally in minutes on a rainy afternoon – just like his fun DIY Macrame Rose Spring Wreath.

Supplies you need to create the DIY Rope basket:

  • thick rope from Home Depot
  • hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • scissors
  • yarn

Steps to make the basket:

  1. Add glue to one end of the rope and start wrapping the rope in a circle.
  2. Keep wrapping the rope until you complete the size that you want the base to be.
  3. Then when you create the base, start wrapping the rope upright.
  4. Wrap until the desired size, and then cut the rope and glue the finishing end to the basket.
  5. I made some charming little tassels and glued them onto my basket.
