BLOGGER STYLIN’ HOME TOURS FALL 2015
We officially kicked-off fall season yesterday, and it’s time for a fall home tour, Friends. I am so excited to participate in the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours hosted by the sweet Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Co. If you are coming from SG Style, welcome here at Place Of My Taste. Shavonda is great, isn’t she? Her porch is to die for!
If you are new to Place Of My Taste, here are a few things to know about me.
I love colors.
I love mixing styles.
I like changing things around regularly.
I would DIY everything if I had time.
Can’t live without coffee.
I love to create art.
I love photography and
I am so thrilled that you are here touring my home today.
So shall we start? Welcome!
The front door was painted couple weeks ago, and I got to say that I love this shade of blue. A lot. It’s perfect with my fall decoration.
This year I skipped the orange pumpkins. Totally. I was standing in the grocery stores staring at those real beautiful pumpkins, but I left them there. I grabbed a few white ones, and that was it. I decorated my home with fresh-cut branches from the yard, textures, and handmade artwork.
One of my favorite rooms is the dining room. It’s the brightest room in the house, and it’s full of DIY projects that make it special to me. Couple days ago I changed out the artwork in these huge frames. I loved what I had before but as I said, I can kind of get bored with looking at the same things for long.
The floating shelf in the dining room is so fresh and just great to hold my succulents (mixed: real and fake:-)
The ol’ white pumpkin got a little makeover with those pretty feathers.
This little kitchen nook is where I can sit down to check on e-mails or browse the net while the dinner is cooking. Those wine bottles are always come in handy, too:-)
Our living room is small but cozy. I had pretty colorful pillows for spring and summer and some lovely blue shades ( check out the SPRING HOME TOUR ) but as summer is over, I took those fun colors down and brought in some black accents.
Our bedroom was just refreshed with a few new pillows and a new bedding that we totally love; it’s so cozy and comfy.
I hope you enjoyed our home tour. Next up is Dwellings By Devore. She has crazy decorating skills, so be sure to hop over!
The line-up this week so far is:

Hi Aniko!
I love your creative and innovative styles for home decorations. Coming to the home decor styles and color, our choices are invariable/alike. As an artist, you have truly inspired me for the indoor fabrications devised with the artistic inventions for the rooms. I just loved the shade of the front door. I am also thinking of changing my previous grand style for my dining cum drawing hall. The pretty feathers and floating shelves had given a totally different look at my gallery. The size of the room doesn’t matter for the comfort you experience. I really loved the tour of your home and was inspired a lot with the interior designing ideas.
Your home is really gorgeous! I love the artwork on the mantel.
So beautiful, Aniko! I love the mantle with all of your gorgeous artwork.
Thank you, Jennifer, for your kind comment. Glad you like my artwork:-) Xo
Lovely tour! Is the ladder shelving piece in your bedroom from Ikea? If so, I have the same one in black and I’m interested in painting it white. Did you purchase it in white or did you have to paint it?
Jessica, Yes, that shelf is from IKEA and I painted it white last year. I used spray paint ( Rustoleum -primer+paint) and it is perfect. Go for it!Xo
Is there a specific colour you used? Thanks!
What is your question relates to, Jessica? Thanks
Just realized what this question was for…sorry… I used white rustoleum plain white.;) hope it helps!!
Thank you! Yes, I was referring to the white Ikea ladder shelving unit! Was your spray paint flat, semi gloss, or gloss? Also, did you have to sand it first? I really like the shelves, so I don’t want to ruin them, but I really want them white!
It was flat. I normally use flat for everything:-) I did sand it a bit but not too crazy! Just enough for the paint to stick to it. You probably will need 2 coats. Good luck!:-)
I loved your vignette at the front door and all your beautiful details around your home. Everything is so beautifully styled. What a beautiful home!
Thank you for visiting, Albertina! Have a fun week!
