This Callah Bread recipe is a long time family favorite. In my country we make Callah bread for Easter traditionally.I usually use my bread machine to make this bread, but you can make it with mixer and knead it by hand. The dough consistency will be fabulous. Perfect with butter and jelly and a cup of coffee.

CALLAH BREAD       
INGREDIENTS:
Bread machine recipe
4 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup joghurt
¼ cup milk
½ cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla aroma
¼ cup shredded coconut(optional)
2 eggs
¼ cup butter
Salt
¼ cup raisin(optional)
2 tbsp. dry yeast
Optional::
Cocoa powder
1 tbsp. water

DIRECTIONS
1.Put milk, yogurt, sugar, vanilla, eggs and yeast to bread machine and add flour, coconut, salt and raisin. Start the “dough”cycle program.
2.Once the dough is formed, add butter and let the program to run for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes leave the dough inside of machine and let it rise for 25 minutes.
3. Start the “dough”cycle program on your machine again. If you wish to add cocoa to one half of the dough, take out half of the dough at the 15th. minutes and add the cocoa powder-water mix to the dough in the machine. Let the machine stir for another 5 minutes.
4.Roll the dough into 2 long strand. 
5.Braid them together. 
6.Brush the top with egg and bake it on 375  for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
