DIY Industrial pipe bar station - Place Of My Taste

It’s almost mid August and I don’t want to believe that summer is coming to an end soon. There is still 3 weeks left and I have to tell you that September is actually one of my favorite months as it could be still really warm, here in VA. Last month I shared our DIY pallet furniture – patio makeover and it was a big hit. Until today, I think it’s one of my favorite projects, ever. On a beautiful breeze evening, while sitting out there, talking and snacking with friends, I had to realize that something was missing from that gorgeous deck. Something that would hold glasses, WINE glasses especially, bottles, snacks, napkins, anything that we would need for a get together out on a deck. At that moment this DIY Industrial Bar Station was born in my head. Yep. I knew this bar station is a must. And now, having it…I don’t think we could be happier.

Things we used to create this super custom

As a first step, we connected the pipes together with the connectors and elbows. It took a little time and I definitely needed hubby to help me with those strong hands 🙂 Once the frame was set, I sanded the pipes and spray painted the whole frame with black paint.

*You might find all your pieces in black (that way no need to spray paint), my store did not have the pieces I needed in black.

While the frame was drying, I stained the wood panels with my orange color (I had this stain already from IKEA, used it in THIS project ). Once the wood  shelves were dry, I glued the shelf to the frame. Easy peasy. No screws needed.

I used Elmer’s Probond Advanced multifaceted glue to secure the shelf to the frame.

ProBond Advanced is perfect multi-surface adhesive for bonding mixed materials, like wood to metal.

I really wanted to add a wine glass rack to this bar station as I am a big wine enthusiast. Cut a longer wood panel in 3 (about 8″ long each) and glued another 1″ x 1″ wood to it with my Elmer’s Wood Glue. Painted the wine rack pieces with the same orange color.

I also wanted to add a  handle on the top of the top shelf to hold kitchen towels as bar stations could be messy. Got a longer silver (which I also spray painted to black) handle and glued it to the top shelf with my ProBond Advance Glue. Pro Bond Advanced provided heavy duty strength with ease of use.

I have to tell you my Friends, this station turned out perfect and we love that it is custom, made to match our DIY patio. YAY! There is going to be many great cocktails and drinks to be made out here, such as this Pom- Berry Lime Splash.

It has 2 shelves and can hold lots of things that we would not be able to fit on our DIY pallet table.

What do you think? It was a pretty easy project. Cost was around $75- $85  if I add up every little pieces.
