ONE ROOM CHALLENGE: BREAKFAST ROOM INSPIRATION

Sharing is caring!

Breakfast room inspiration

You guys! Call me crazy, because I sure am. Calling it Home kicked off the One Room Challenge today and I am linking up as a participant. I participated last year with my OFFICE ROOM MAKEOVER and it was such an inspiration to work on the room each week and share the results with you guys. Now, I had just posted couple weeks ago about slowing down in life but that won’t probable happen anytime soon around here…nope…

I love to challenge myself and my design abilities so let’s do this!

I chose our breakfast room this time.

This room literally is the center of the house and that is where we spend most of our time. We eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here and just in general we sit down in this room when we chat over a cup of coffee.

The room pretty plain and currently it has no style at all. I don’t think I’ve ever shown this room on the blog…wonder why-haha..:-)

You ready?

The furniture in the room was purchased for about 80% less off of the original price at Target about 5 years ago and it does have heavy wear on it. It is full of stickers and just a total mess. You know when you have 2 little kids there is no way you can keep a dining table in shape when food is dripping literally everywhere. Or at least I could not.

My main color inspiration is this room below!♥

I love bright colors and I will brighten up this room with yellow and lots of fun colors.

My inspiration board has yellows and greens and that is in the bucket now for colors:-)

PLANS:

I am not going to buy new furniture but will transform my old one to a “new” one:)

PAINT CHAIRS (plan is yellow at the moment but could change at any time in my word:)

REFINISH TABLE ( medium brown)

PAINT CHANDELIER ( I have this old chandelier from when we moved in and thinking about paining it green)

ADD A CURTAIN

ADD DIY NO SEW PLACEMATS

In what order will this all happen, I am not sure . All I know that I hope to finish the room in 6 weeks! JOJCYS_2

Well my Friends, I hope you will follow me  and ALL THE OTHER PARTICIPANTS along in this fun 6 weeks!

See you all next week!

Cheers!

  1. Gah! Eating areas with kids. Don’t I know it! Currently my much loved fabric chairs are covered in washable waterproof covers. Seriously – fabric chairs – worse decorator decision ever! I love that you’re going to infuse your space with so much colour and so happy you’re tackling such a busy space in your home. I can’t wait to see your sunny space when you’re done.

  2. I love your plan, Aniko and so excited to follow along! Look forward to seeing your space brightened up! 🙂 Have a great weekend, friend!
