DIY BOHO tassel ornaments for you to try and decorate this holiday season!DIY BOHO Tassel ornament

I am participating in a fun DIY Christmas tree ornaments blog hop today hosted by Krista over at The Happy Housie. I haven’t pulled any of my Christmas decors out just yet (I might be the only blogger haha), but my priority was to finish our kitchen before I start on anything else.

Now I can finally breathe and focus on the holidays and some holiday decor. Last year I decorated with neutral decor for Christmas, and I have a feeling that it won’t be any different this year either. I love to include a little bit of boho in my home decor, and I came up with these super cute dyed tassels that I will hang on my smaller Christmas tree in our living room. I used some leftover cotton rope from my macrame projects, but you can use yarn or thread as well.

Things you will need for this easy tassel ornaments project:

  • scrap rope, yarn or thread
  • scissors
  • RIT liquid dye – denim blue
  • wooden beads
  • paper towel

Steps to make your cute ornament:

  • Cut short strings
  • Tie a knot in the middle of the strings
  • Give your tassel a haircut

  • Prepare your dye ( following instructions of the box of the dye)
  • Soak your tassel halfway for about 1 minute

Here is a quick video of how it’s done as well!

Tada!

Aren’t these tassels are too cute? I am loving the two-toned look and I can’t wait to hang these fun pieces on my tree this coming weekend!

  1. They are my favorite of all, but lots of fun! I also loved the spell lists. I love blue so much. I think I will try to make something like dress-up gifts. Somewhat innocent. I am hanging on a stick with greenery like them. Very fresh and modern.
