Today I am sharing a delicious Chocolate Challah Bread recipe with you guys!

CHOCOLATE CHALLAH BREAD RECIPE

This year I was planning on sharing more recipes than before, and I am already doing so!  Hallelujah! I could keep at least one resolution (blog related one). I can mess with food any day; for just one reason: I LOVE food photography a whole lot.  It makes me relaxed, and I enjoy creating the perfect composition for the picture. But I also love cooking, so it makes an enjoyable process all around.

Today I am joining a fantastic group of ladies for a Spring recipe hop hosted by my sweet friend, Krista over at The Happy Housie. I am glad she invited me to participate as it’s always so much inspiration to be included in a fun blog hop like this. And this round looks SUPERLICIOUS!

Spring recipe…OKAY! Did I bring Chocolate Challah Bread to the table? Yup!

CHOCOLATE CHALLAH BREAD RECIPE

You might ask yourself why am I sharing a Challah bread as a Spring recipe?

Well, I was born and raised in Hungary, and I remember eating Challah Bread every single Easter. I love bread (any bread) a lot, and I am a sucker for Challah bread. My grandma used to make the softest, most delicious Challah bread for us, grandkids.  We ate sliced Challah bread for breakfast with chocolate milk; we ate it with a jelly spread, we made the dough with cinnamon, chocolate, and raisins… Awe! My mouth is watering already even just saying these words out loud!

It’s super easy to make the bread dough using eggs, oil and a few other ingredients. People always think that making bread is tedious and takes a long time. It’s a complete misconception. Making a loaf is super easy. It requires 5-10 minutes to make the dough, and the rest is just some time to let the dough rise.

Are you ready for this fantastic Chocolate Challah bread recipe?

  1. Your bread is gorgeous. I agree with Elizabeth. Your instructions are missing the yogurt. Also it might be helpful to have an estimate of how much warm milk to use. I am a fairly experienced baker so I think I will give this a try.
I wish there would be more comments from people who have actually tried your recipe

  2. I really want to try this recipe but am confused where do i add the yogurt and the first amount of sugar to the dough or chocolate filling?

    1. Hi there! I also ran into this problem. I know it’s a long time since you asked your question, but in case you’re still interested, here’s what I did.

In a bowl, mix the warm milk and sugar. Add the yeast and set aside to allow the yeast to activate.
Mix flour and salt. Mix milk and yeast mixture with the flour and salt.
Combine yogurt, eggs, and oil. Add to flour mixture.

The first amount of sugar goes in the dough. Yogurt mixes with the eggs and oil, and is then added to the flour/yeast mix.

      Hope that helps!

  3. This looks so beautiful and delicious Aniko – my family would be so impressed if I could make this! Thank you for sharing the recipe and for being part of this hop!
