CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR – BSHT ’16
Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour 2016. Wow! This year flew by so fast!
I am always looking forward to this time of the year. We love to spend home with the family with the lights on, making Christmas cookies, listening to Christmas songs, doing the Christmas Countdown and playing the Elf on the Shelf. It’s such a special time of the year! I also look forward each year to this fabulous Christmas Blog Hop hosted by Lindsay, from the White Buffalo Styling Co. If you are coming from Dimples and Tangles, I am sure you were in Aw with Jennifer’s style. Today I will walk you through a few of our spaces. Last year I went with an unexpected Red and Blue combo for my Christmas theme, but since last December we redecorated our living room (family room), and we changed wall colors, added built-in bookshelves, this year I wanted to go with something that goes with my current decor, of course.
If you know me or my style you probably won’t be surprised to see lots of wooden elements, layers and much textures throughout this tour. I decided to go with simple and neutral Christmas decor for 2016.
Enjoy the tour, friends!
My front porch was decorated as part of The Home Depot Holiday Style Challenge. You can see the entire front porch and how I created our woodland decor HERE.
My entryway is small but super functional. I love our shoe cabinet as it hides all those dirty little sneakers and I am also very pleased with our COAT RACK SYSTEM that we DIY-ed last year. It’s super organized and useful.
I made up some pretty funky and boho ADVENT CALENDAR that I initially wanted to hang in our living room, but it ended up in our foyer. So fun!
Ok! Now after the first few pictures you can clearly tell that I love blue!! Every shade of blue!!:-) The blue love continues into our living room as well.
I have not decorated this room to be very Christmas-y, though. I decorated a small tree, and we hung the fabric ornaments that I DIY-ed years ago.
And from this angle, you get a peek at my fresh dining room that I will share in another post on Thursday. We got rid of the YELLOW that we had in there for so long, and I had wanted to paint a fresh color for so long but never got around it until this past weekend:-) It ‘s incredible what a little paint and rearranging things can do to a room! Ghaw!
Adding some simple and beautiful from the backyard is always a winner, in every season in my home.
Okay… I sneak in an another image of the dining room:-)
And my kitchen was a mess, so there is no image of that haha.
The next and final room for the tour is our family room. We love this room so much. I wanted to incorporate the woodland look to the inside of our home as well and since I did not find ornaments I was looking for, I DIY-ed my own. See how I made those cute little wooden ornaments HERE. My tree is simple with browns and white.
I placed my tree in a large basket (I still used a Christmas tree stand), and I think it looks fabulous with the white, green and brown contrast.
I decorated my mantel with lots of layers and used the same color combo. Green, brown, white. I really love the look and this year I did not hang Christmas stockings.
See more of my BOHEMIAN CHRISTMAS MANTEL DECOR in this post.
I placed my tree in a large basket this year. Of course, the tree is standing in a Christmas tree stand so I can water it:-)
Well, I hope you enjoyed this short tour of my home. Now head on to THE CHRONICLES OF HOME to see how Jennifer decorated fro the holidays.
There are other fabulous homes to check out, be sure to go through them! I promise they are fantastic!

Found this many years later, but OMG!! I absolutely love all of it, but especially the pinecone garland. Did you make that or purchase it?
Thank you! I purchased it, but I guess you can make it too:-)
Such stunning tours this year Aniko! I feel like you have taken your home to a whole new level over the past year and your talent and gorgeous style is completely shining through, now! It’s really cool to watch your style evolve over the years! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family.
So beautiful! I especially LOVE your front porch decorations.

I love your tour. You have a beautiful home and the decor is fabulous, inviting, and so cozy. What color is your front door, it’s beautiful and looks like the perfect color for every season?
I adore every inch of your home! Seriously stunning.
The wood theme is so refreshing and beautiful! I’d love to have a few of those wood garlands about.
AMAZING. It all flows beautifully. We had a yellow entry and after a year I finally painted it. I couldn’t believe it took me so long to take care of it because it is SO much better now.
Well this is just all kinds of warm and woodsy and welcoming! I love the organic simplicity of your holiday decor, Aniko!
Wishing you and yours the very merriest of Christmases!
xx Sarah
Thank you so much, Sarah! I love woodsy and warm:-) Have the happiest holiday season!

I was thinking about your wood natural ornaments. I actually will go for them next year, I think. Also white baubles looks so clear and wintery.
Inese, those were super easy to make! Seriously and I love how they look on the tree!
Have the happiest holiday season! XO
I love your house. It has similar vibes to what I try to create in my own as well as all the blue. Absolutely beautiful!
Rachel- Thank you so much! I am glad that you love and try to recreate this style. It’s warm and welcoming, isn’t it? I hope you stay around for more inspiration! Have the happiest holidays!
I love your home. The decorations are understated and lovely. I’m neither a designer nor a blogger, but I love to read design blogs. I’m also in need of a sofa and love your leather one. Can you tell me where you purchased it and if you’re happy with the comfort and durability of it?
Thanks.
Aniko, I love the natural look of your family room! So simple, elegant, and cozy. Looking forward to seeing your dining room! Oh, and I love all sorts of blue as well 🙂
Thanks so much, Denise!! I do love the coziness of our home around Christmas:-) I hope you have the happiest Holidays! And yay for blues!!♥ Xo
Wow Aniko, it’s all so pretty! My favorite is your tree. It reminds me of home in Germany growing up. I don’t know if you feel the same about it being similar in Hungary. In Germany you used to decorate a lot with natural elements. Love it. Hope you have an amazing Christmas. Your home certainly is amazing.
Totally! We used to bake ginger cookies (and those were cute little brown cookies) and they kind of looked like my wooden ornaments on my tree this year. Thanks for checking in for your kind compliments! Happy Holidays!!
aniko, your home is SOOOO beautiful! i just love your style! i love the ladder with the pom poms and the blues and whites in your entry and family room!
Thank you so-so much, Cassie! Xo
