Soft, delicious Chocolate Challah Bread recipe. Yummy!
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • ½ cup sugar ( add more for a sweeter taste)
  • Chocolate filling:
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ cup milk to dissolve cocoa powder
  1. In a small bowl dissolve dry yeast in a little warm milk with sugar
  2. Add flour, salt and yeast mixture together and stir in the egg mixture. Work i together until a soft dough will form.
  3. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it sit for 1-1.5hr
  4. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface and divide into 4 equal parts.
  5. Roll the other into a rectangle. Add the chocolate filling all the way to the sides of the dough on the right and left then begin rolling up the dough. Repeat with the other half of the dough, and let the two logs rest for another ½ hour, covered with a dish towel.
  6. Cut each log in half lengthwise. With chocolate stripes facing up, make a # sign with the logs. Loosely weave the logs then tuck the ends underneath the loaf.

  9. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake 35 to 45 minutes.
