I am back today with a pretty easy DIY for you all: DIY Christmas decorations!
My dear Friend, Jen from The House of Wood invited me to join a fun deck the halls DIY style blog hop. It’s also time to share my monthly project with FloraCraft®. 🙂 This month we got some pretty awesome EPS Floracraft® Foam Shapes in our big box. They are seriously so cute. I used an unexpected blue, red and white color combo for my Christmas theme this season. My tree is pretty big and bright with this color mix so I wanted to keep my mantle simple and not very overwhelming. The tree is right next to my fireplace, so simplicity was a great choice for decorating the mantle.
I chose to make over the Christmas tree and the Reindeer Floracraft® Foam Shapes to add some DIY Christmas decorations to my mantle.
Materials needed:
–FloraCraft® FoamTree and Reindeer
– Mod podge
-White sand from the dollar store
-Vase filler rocks from the dollar store
-Hot glue gun
-Fabric
The idea struck me while browsing the dollar store aisles. 🙂
STEPS:
To make the TEXTURED CHRISTMAS TREE:
Cover the FloraCraft® Foam tree with mod podge and sprinkle the white sand over the tree. The sand will stick to the tree shape and will give a nice textured look to the tree.
To make the TEXTURED REINDEER:
Using hot glue gun, glue the rocks to the FloraCraft® Foam Reindeer. I used a piece of plaid fabric ( the one I used to decorate my DIY NO SEW STOCKINGS) to make up a scarf for the reindeer.
With these easy DIY Christmas decorations I kept my mantle simple and pretty with lots of green and white accents. What do you think? Sometimes simple is the best!
