TUSCAN MOROCCAN RUG

You all! Can you believe this is week 4 for the One Room Challenge? Wowza! Weeks are flying by so fast! It’s only two weeks left, and it’s going to be LIVING ROOM reveal time! I can’t wait. I still have to gather few pieces for the room but today you can see a little bit of the other side of the room and how it’s transforming into a fun living room. If you are new here, be sure to check out the sweet little corner that I shared last week along with a nice IKEA TV STAND HACK and my fun DRAMATIC STENCILED WALL. I have a feeling that this probably will be my new favorite room in the house. I wanted to create a cozy, mid-modern, boho mix room with lots of texture and colors, and I think I am going in a right direction with the plan.

Today I am going to show you my NEW rug in the house. I have a few rugs.  Just a few:-) But of course, I needed a new one. Something I never had, a shag rug.

I spied this amazing Tuscan Moroccan Shag rug at RugsUSA, and I fell in love with it. I was super excited to get this rug to see how it looks in real life and how it feels. Well, it did not disappoint me. I thought the stripes were more gray color (based on the picture on the net) but they are brownish hues. Gorgeous.

I ordered a 5×7 size rug, and I thought it would look great with the set up I have imagined in this room, but I wasn’t right. The rug was a bit too small for the space so I decided to add another rug underneath. My vision for this room in my head was: lots of texture and greens with a pop of colors ( which still missing from this space) so I added a nice Jute Rug to the mix.

Now you can also get a peek of my OH SO GORGEOUS HAMILTON leather sofa. I’ve been eyeing this piece of furniture for the longest time. I was so crazy about it that I even drove an hour and a half to see it in person:-)  Loved it, so SHE came home with me. Just note: I don’t buy a sofa like this every day.

Nope.

I don’t.

I am the cheapest person on this planet and getting a piece like this only happens once in a blue moon. I  would DIY anything, and everything, and I would up-cycle anything and everything from the thrift stores if I could. That’s the sofa story.

So the sofa and the rug goes well together.

The rug is plush and very comfortable plus super stylish. I am not going to lie. It shed a bit, and it still does, but it is already so much better than the first weeks when I had the rug. Vacuuming little more often was required but, hey…that’s not the end of the world, right?

As you see, there is considerably good progress in here but I am still missing colors. I don’t think I can live without colors.

The agenda for the next couple of weeks is to: add colorful accessories, art and hopefully I will find a chair that I like that would also fit into my budget (uhm…budget was already overspent with the sofa purchase:-(()
