Sharing is caring!

Festive, gorgeous table setting for the Christmas HolidaysChristmas is fast approaching and some of my talented bloggy friends and I thought it would be nice to share our Christmas table setting to inspire others with their set up. If you are coming from the sweet Bettina’s blog, Oh Everything Handmade, welcome here! How gorgeous and soft her color palette is!

Christmas Eve is all about festivities,… and table settings! At least in my house. 😉 We sit around the neatly set table with my family, and we enjoy ourselves while eating great food and  embracing the holiday spirit and each other.  I love to set our holiday table festively as well. This year I used an unexpected blue and red color combo to decorate my holiday home. And I have to admit that I love it! I do. I was hesitant when my son pointed to the blue ornaments first, but I thought why not give it a go and see how I can come up with the blue color incorporated into my home decor for the Christmas season. It worked out perfectly with my red accents. Here is a  vignette from my

I was hesitant when my son pointed to the blue ornaments first, but I thought why not give it a go, and see how I can come up with the color blue incorporated into my home decor for the Christmas season. It worked out perfectly with my red accents. Here is a  vignette from my Christmas home tour so you can see the tree we created with this new color theme.

CHRISTMAS Decor

It’s unique, isn’t it?

I kept the blue hues throughout my home (see more of my home tour HERE).

I decorated my Christmas table setting with blue and red shades as well.

Instead of a regular table runner, I used black thick wrapping paper and I lined it across the table. Then I made a beautiful centerpiece featuring blue faux flowers, pomegranates, greenery and Christmas tree branches. I found that lovely golden vase at Goodwill for a couple of dollars; it was just what I had needed for my centerpiece base.

And now the best part. A trip to the dollar store resulted in these fun hand drawn plates. I picked up some white square plates and a few black ones.  Drew some leaves on the white plate with my oil based sharpie pen, and I baked the plates for 35 minutes to make it permanent and voila, there are some beautifully designed holiday plates.

It’s lovely and simply elegant at the same time.

In addition, I changed the artwork in my huge frames. For this occasion, I simply hung some pretty boxwood I had picked in my garden. 🙂
