I was not quite ready to decorate for fall last week when I got back from the beach. I did not feel the excitement for fall decorating just yet until I went shopping and I saw beautifully dressed stores with fall home decor. Ghaw. I pop into Pier 1 time to time just to feed my eyes. Do you do that? It totally gets me in the groove then I go home and I start decorating like a crazy girl:-). Our front porch isn’t big.
I’ve been dreaming about a huge wide porch where I could have two chairs with a little table to sit outside and enjoy the breeze sometimes. Well, it’s just a dream for now. I usually sit out on these steps with my morning coffee 🙂 So as I don’t have a huge front porch there is not much I can place in front of my door as a decoration but little things can totally brighten up this space.
Last year, I got 2 huge terra cotta planters at Home Depot on sale ( $10 each), and I spray painted them over the summer to a bright and lovely light blue. I loved their look, so I kept them for my fall decoration. I planted beautiful orange fall mums into them.
I found this cute watering can at Target on sale, which I was eyeing for a while but waited until last minute to get it and luckily I was able to score it with 75% off discount. I placed some fun fall decor bunch with feathers in there, and it looked just perfect with the blue terra cotta pot and the orange pumpkins around it.
I got a nice floral bell doormat that totally matched my color scheme. Don’t you love it? I do! So pretty.
As you see, there are little details that make this porch look fall-ish. Colors are my real good friends, and I love to mix and match them.
This gorgeous blue door was freshly painted couple weeks ago. I had a bright green door before, and I was a little tired of it already, so I chose this dark gorgeous blue as I thought it would go wonderfully with fall colors. I will share how easy it is to paint your front door next week. All I say is: the paint you choose is key!
Update: Learn HOW TO PAINT YOUR FRONT DOOR and find out what color I used on my door:
I hope that you got some inspiration to get your porch fall ready this weekend!
Happy day you all!
