My friend Jenna from Rain on a Tin Roof invited us to share some of our favorite wall designs that are not shiplap, and I jumped on the opportunity to showcase some of my past wall designs from previous projects. If you are coming from the Suburban Bitches, welcome. I love the “SHIPLAP” look, but everywhere you look you see shiplap these days. Thanks for the fixer upper to make it such a trend:-) If you are following me here for a while you probably remember for some of these walls that I will share today.

I love a unique and cool wall treatment as I think they can make a great focal point of the room.

So let see my favorite designs on walls from the past:

This fun and dramatic stenciled wall still rock my world. I can’t get enough of it. I love the black and white look, and I especially admire the brown DIY TV unit put against it.:-) The wall was created with a large stencil from Royal Designs. It was pretty easy to finish, and I could not be happier with my dramatic and modern wall after it was finished. If you like the design, learn more about it HERE ( DRAMATIC STENCILED WALL ) and there is a step by step tutorial on how you can do it.

My other favorite design is this cool stencil in my kiddos’ room.

Well, I went bold with that:-) I thought of my kids, and I could only think about funky and bold colors for their room. That wall was done with a stencil as well, from Royal Designs, and that was a pretty easy design to paint on as well. Check out more on that wall HERE. (STENCILED ACCENT WALL)

Next on the list is this easy triangle wall in my little one’s room. That wall is not a stencil, but the design was created with peel and stick paper. Pretty cool, eehh? I cut each of those little triangles out and stick it onto the wall. And the other side of the room is a chalk wall. It’s fun, and my kids love to draw on it. Check out the step by step tutorial for that wall HERE. ( EASY TRIANGLE WALL)

And this wall was from my very early blogging years. I think that was my very first project in the house-ha! It’s amazing how much our style changes over time. Anyways…That time I loved that striped wall and I wrote a tutorial on HOW TO PAINT A STRIPED WALL. If you are into stripes, check it out:-)
