3 handmade gift ideas from the dollar store
It’s Friday and we have just a few days until Christmas.
I wanted to share some really cute handmade gift ideas with you today from the dollar store.
Hollala!
Do you love $1 store items?
I am seriously addicted to that store.
It’s amazing to me what you can find for a buc..and with a little “pretty up” you can have some really nice handmade gifts.
Originally it was suppose to be 3 separate posts, but now that I am out of time, I am sharing all this in one post since these projects are
SUPER EASY
and you can do it in max 30 minutes
Sounds Awesome?
Lets start with those cute mugs with “shirt” on.
I saw similar mugs at Target and I certainly though I could dig my son’s outgrown outfit bag to make this cutie.

I cut the sleeves off of my son’s shirt and pulled it on over the mug. Cut out a hole so the mug holder can be accessible.

I embellished them with cute buttons and I also ended up sewing a button to the opening, right under the handle.

I designed a matching tag with it which is
FREE to print

Very easy, inexpensive little project.

Who wouldn’t love to get this super good looking kitchen glove and potholder?
I would!
All you need is some fabric to pretty this kitchen glove and potholder up.
I used my sewing machine, but if you don’t have one, just use fabric glue or sew on the fabric by hand.

I used my leftover buttons to embellish.

Red and blue are so great together.

Filled the glove with kitchen items {$1 items of course} and I am sure whomever will end up getting this perfect gift ,will be happy.

…and now on to the 3rd project.

  1. Also curious… The sweater doesn't unravel? I would think a knit would… Unless that is a waffle type thermal? Any suggestions for possible fabric choices? Thanks!

    1. I used exactly the waffle type thermal. It does't look like would unravel.:-) If you use sweater I think you would have to finish the knitting both ends.Have a Merry Christmas!
