For some reason, my last minute ideas are always the best. Ha! I work better under pressure lol.

Just this afternoon while I realized that tomorrow is the 1st of December and I completely forgot to put together our Christmas Countdown Calendar, this super fun and an easy idea came to mind. I had some of the stuff I used at home, but you can complete this fun Advent calendar with a trip to The Home Depot and Target for less than $15 and 15 minutes. Sounds good? Yeah!

What you need:

3 – 1″ dowel
stain (optional)
Holiday clips ( mine were from Target)
Scotch permanent mounting squares

I had a few dowel pieces cut and stained ( I use them for my macrame hangings), but you can grab a few dowel pieces, cut them to the length you wish and stain them with the color you prefer. I used red chestnut on mine.

Cut the permanent mounting squares into small pieces and attach your dowel pieces to the wall. I used a level to make sure that my dowels are straight.

Then cut some smaller pieces of the mounting squares and attach the holiday clips to the dowel pieces.

Easy-peasy, right? As you see my dowel pieces were not the same length, but you can cut yours to be the same length for all pieces.
