This year I used lots of wooden decor in my home, so I kept the theme for Christmas as well.

Every year I put up different Christmas tree decoration. Why? Because I love it that way:) The fun part is to come up with something new every year. Last year I went with bold, unexpected Red and Blue Christmas tree decor and the year before I decorated with silver and gold. And we loved it all these different decorations. It was perfect. Since we upgraded, repainted our living room and we added a pretty pink rug, the blue and red decor would not have worked this year for sure. I, for whatever reason, love to add textures, layers in every inch of my home and I pictured a cute tree with wooden ornaments mixed with white large ball ornaments for this Christmas.

Do you think I found any wooden ornaments in stores or even simple large white ornaments? Nope! So what one does when there is nothing she is looking for is out there?

SHE MAKES HER OWN!

Yup!

I created some pretty simple neutral Christmas tree decoration!

I went to Wal-Mart and found these cute little wooden craft pieces. It comes in a small package (you can find it in the craft aisle). I found them in round and star shapes.  It was about $1.60 for eight pieces. Winner, right?

I ran home and quickly drill a hole on these wooden shapes and stained them with my two favorite wood stain, dark walnut and golden oak from Minwax.

Once they were dry, I thread twine through the holes, and I hung them on my lovely tree. I also bought clear plastic ornaments at Wal-Mart and sprayed them with flat white spray paint:) They turned out to be just perfect.

To make my tree look as cohesive to my living room decor as possible, I set my tree in a large wicker box. ( I, of course, used a Christmas tree stand and I stood the stand in the large basket.)

So what do you think? I am in love with this beautiful Christmas tree! I could sit there all day and watch it from the corner:-)
