PAINTED CHANDELIER { ONE ROOM CHALLENGE-WEEK 2}
This is week two of the One Room Challenge hosted by the sweet Linda at Calling it Home. Â Check out WEEK 1, THE INSPIRATION if you missed it. I had this one room in the house, where we spend the most time, and I have to admit that this is the most neglected room. We eat here at every meal ( except on holidays or when we have visitors); we sit here for a cup of coffee, we spend the most time in here. It is our breakfast room. The room with no style. How could that even be?
I am adding bright and bold colors in here. Why? I think I can simply say that I need color in my life. Especially now that I feel spring in the air!
So the first and of course probably the easiest project on my list was this great, bold hunter green painted chandelier.
When we moved into this house, we had this chandelier hung in our dining room. The chandelier was outdated and not my style, so it got off the ceiling right away. It was sitting up in the attic for eight long years, waiting for the right moment to come.
And her time came.
I am a keeper…a hoarder…a fixer upper… My hubby can’t fight enough about it – Sigh…
So are you ready to see how this old chandelier looked BEFORE?
Yep- almost got rid of it, I remember that. But now, with getting older and getting braver with the design, I could see this chandelier being painted, Â hanging in our breakfast room. I really could.
As a first step, I sanded the surface completely. Took about 8-10 minutes to get every little inch covered.
Then I taped the areas that I did not want to paint with painter’s tape.
The color I picked was HUNTER GREEN RUSTOLEUM spray paint.
I just love the bright deep green. So pretty!
Easy peasy transformation. It is, and it makes a huge difference.
Look at the before and after..just because we love to see before and after:-)
Painted Chandelier for Breakfast Room – Checked:-)
I switched out the bulbs and added the most modern looking round ones. What do you think?
Oh, you can also peek a little bit at the background. I added some fun spring colors to the living room. I will share some detailed shots next Tuesday with the Blogger Style home tours series.
I hope you got inspired today, and you will also put your hands on one of those old brass chandeliers! Come back to see the breakfast room’s challenge next stop next Thursday!
Before you go, PIN this image to remember for it later!
