Melted Snowman Cookies

Oh man..Don’t you love these
They are just too cute.
I have to tell you that these cookies didn’t last too long in my house.
It was seriously gone in a few hours.
I spotted these adorable cookies in Parents magazine and we got right on it to give it a try. I did not completely follow the original recipe but they turned out perfect the way I made them. I used meringue made from egg whites instead of icing to top the cookies.
One of my favorite thing in the kitchen is to make a mess with my boys. They are always up for it..haha. And now that Christmas is just right around a corner we will have a lots of messy kitchen days:-)
I used store bought sugar cookies this time{ I usually don’t buy refrigerated cookies }but if you have your favorite sugar cookie recipe, just make a dozen of that.

Really only need a few ingredients to make these super cute cookies.

1 package refrigerated sugar cookies or a homemade sugar cookies
1/2 cup sugar
4 egg whites
Icing to to decorate:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cup warm water
1 tsp vanilla extract
Food coloring
Medium size Marshmallows
Semisweet Chocolate Chips

1.Preheat oven for 350 F
2. Bake Cookies according to package directions. Let it cool completely.
3. In a large bowl Beat egg whites until frothy.
4.Gradually add sugar
5. Spread the meringue over cookies, place one marshmallow on each cookie and put it in the oven for 3 minutes, until the top of the marshmallow will turn golden brown
4. Make your icing { stir together sugar, water and vanilla extract }with food coloring and decorate as you wish.

These Snowman cookies will be great desserts for your Christmas party.

My boys really loved the meringue on the top of the cookies.
They totally thought its whipped cream:-)

Ready to bite your monitor..? I am..

How do you get your meringue so fluffy? I used the egg whites that are already separated out, maybe that's my problem? My meringue just gets to be the consistency of thick icing…. :( The marshmallow heads are currently browning as I type! :) thanks for the recipe

Jenn, I hope your meringue turned out just right. Make sure you use your electric mixer on the highest speed and there is no egg yolk mixed into your whites. It's also important not to add the powdered sugar until soft peak stage.Have fun baking and Merry Christmas to you!
