Festive Holiday Gathering Tips and Table

Sharing is caring!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Danone and JM Smucker. The opinions and text are all mine.

Hi friends! Are you getting ready for Christmas like I am? I put together this sweet, colorful tablescape with some hot coffee and my favorite creamer plus delicious goodies for a Festive Holiday Gathering. Make sure to check the Target Cartwheel App to save up to 20% on participating coffee & creamer products for discounts on stuff you are getting anyway… and maybe just 1 or 2 things you decide you can’t live without. 🙂

So today, I’m going to tell you all about my festive holiday gathering idea so you can easily recreate it for your family and friends.

Begin this holiday rally by picking the best surface in your home to work with as a backdrop for what you are adding. This whole thing got to set out on my dark, wood dining room table first and I had to redo it on my breakfast nook table because it just didn’t have enough contrast. So- the moral of that story is – not to force something that is not working. If it’s not right, move on. I tried to make it work on the wood background for an entire hour before I finally gave up and tried the other table.

It turned out just like I envisioned and is such a cheerful spread. I love sharing these times with my friends.
This was basically just a great opportunity to get in the holiday spirit and have good company!

Think of it as an alternative to Friday night wine time.

Festive Christmas Table Setting

I love entertaining, and I LOVE girl time! Target makes it so easy to gather festive decor and all the fixings I need for refreshments to serve.

These little Christmas candles were an impulse buy, but they smell like sugar cookies (YUM!) and the little wood tree cutouts are so adorable!
I actually have a hard time leaving Target without at least one new item I didn’t plan to get but somehow, after seeing it- can’t imagine living without. Am I the only one? I think not.

Ha!
I also find that I use my impulse buys more than I thought I would- so it’s worth it. Like these small wooden plates that I literally just bought about a week ago and used to make these tasty Vegan Pumpkin Pancakes. And basically, everything you see on this simple table is from Target. Yup!

Holiday place settings

These holiday napkins add a simple touch with their understated plaid and the fringed edges ads a bit of femininity and texture.

Always add a little fresh seasonal greenery to your table. No matter the season, clipping what you have right outside your door brings a fresh taste of nature and life to the party.

Here’s a quick rundown of my Holiday Gathering Tips

1. Instead of a Friday night wine get together -invite your friends for a fresh cup of coffee and treats on a Sunday afternoon.

2. Set the main beverage. I chose this 1850™ Pioneer Blend Medium Roast Ground Coffee and made sure to have this Horizon Organic half & half on hand.

3. Make it easy and don’t turn on the oven… grab festive cookies or make some simple no-bake treats for a colorful array.

4. Set the scene with seasonal decor and trimmings. I Love to pick out knick-knacks and baubles from the dollar section in Target. So, the candles, cloth napkins, little chimney houses, sparkly trees, mugs, and Christmas tree dishes were some of the little additions that give this seasonal setting some holiday whimsy.

Need ideas for your Simple Holiday Gathering munchies?

Want to add some homemade goodies to your spread? The holiday barks on my gathering table were actually homemade, and I will be sharing the recipe for Homemade Holiday Sweets Platter next week. So make sure to check back for that too.
And again, Target Cartwheel App to save up to 20% on participating coffee & creamer products for discounts on stuff you are getting anyway.

Most of all- enjoy your time with friend and family. That’s what this season is all about.
Happy Holidays to you and yours. Thanks for dropping by Place of My Taste.
Cheers,
Aniko
