ONE ROOM CHALLENGE: WEEK 2
Phew!! Here we go Week 2 for the One Room Challenge.
Time flies, guys! Especially when you work on a monster project and you don’t even know how monster of a project it is.;-) This week demolition started, which kind of was supposed to happen sooner – but it didn’t. You know how life always gets in the way, haha! If you missed my PLANS that I shared last week, be sure to hop over and check it out!
We are hoping to finish the demolition by Friday – that’s when our plumber will be arriving to move a couple of things around. Did I tell you that we completly changing the layout?
My hubby and I are DIYers. If you are following around, you know how much we love projects, especially if it falls within our DIY skills. For this makeover, however, the majority of things will be done by professionals – we feel that instead of learning how to tile with giant tiles, it’s wiser to have some professional do it for us.
Speaking of TILES!
I am super excited to collaborate with The Tile Shop for this fantastic project.
I have a local store in town, and I had the opportunity to walk in to see feel the tiles. YOu know…online shopping is great but walking into an actual store and see things in person is a different experience.
I was surprised to see what a vast selection of tiles and products The Tile Shop has. Wow!
I walked around for a good 30 minutes and chatted with the store manager about my design ideas and plans.
She was helpful, knowledgeable and helped pick out the tiles for my vision. After picking out a few different tiles, we lay everything down beside eachother, and I was able to make my decision quickly. I am a visual person and seeing these tiles together made my picking proicess easier.
And what can I say..? I found the tiles of my dreams, guys.
My vision for this master bath was to have a large open shower with moody black walls and a concrete looking floor tile paired with it.
I chose to go with the large 31x 31-inch large porcelain tiles, and I am so excited about these large bad boys!
For the wall, I picked out the black/charcoal version, and for the floor, I chose to go with a light color version.
I also decided to add an accent wall to this room with these rustic looking ceramic tile.
But here is the reality…
We are still in demo mode, guys! I know it will all come together beautifully at the end and it will take a few weeks before I start seeing progress in here …:-)
