SOFT PRETZEL RECIPE
We are huge fans of soft pretzels over here, so today I am sharing a soft pretzel recipe with ya. 🙂
And this time I shaped them according to the season. 🙂 I made cute little pumpkins of the dough, and everyone loved it. I took a batch of these soft pretzels to a Halloween party and let me tell ya; they were gone in NO time. 🙂
By the way, this Halloween party where we went this past weekend was THE most fun. I have to confess; I have never in my life dressed up for Halloween. Yeah, you hear me. So I felt like a kid again, and we had the best time with our friends.
Back to the soft pretzel recipe!
So anyways…. people think making soft pretzels is hard, but it’s not! Trust me! The only time-consuming part is to wait for for the dough to rise, but that’s it. Putting the dough together takes only 5 minutes! Just recently I saw a cute video on Facebook of pumpkin bread, and they were shaped to small pumpkins, and I loved the idea.
Here is a quick video for you to watch!
- 2 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 package dry yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar ( or brown sugar)
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 10 cups water
- 2/3 cup baking soda
- 1 egg yolk
These soft pretzels were gone fast! Like REAL FAST! They are soft, fluffy, salty and just simply amazing!
I love when something delish comes out of my oven…and my family loves it, too. 🙂 What’s your favorite salty snack that you make from scratch?
