Hey Friends! Did you all have a wonderful weekend? The weather has been AMAZING around here. I can not recall the last time we had a gorgeous summer in August like this. Hmmm…Love it but at the same time I hate to see it go away so quick.
Today I am celebrating summer with this delicious Strawberry – Cantaloupe slushie. It is not only gorgeous but very refreshing and yet super delicious. Cantaloupes are so inexpensive these days and we always have at least one in the refrigerator. I love to cut cantaloupes in cubes, chill it and take it to the pool as a snack and I also love it as a drink. It really only takes a few minutes to create this pretty drink and I bet you will be making it for the rest of the summer. Yesterday, after lunch we were craving some dessert with the boys. I did not have time to bake anything so I looked into our refrigerator and I though the quickest dessert probably would be a nice, cold, refreshing slushie. I had some strawberries and a whole cantaloupe handy and created this gorgeous drink for after lunch. We invested in a NUTRI BULLET blender last year and we literally us it every day. NUTRI BULLET is the best thing ever. ( this is not a sponsored post 🙂
We make so many different drink and slusie mix with it. Veggies with fruits and seeds and really whatever you can think of could go into this awesome blender.
- 1 medium cantaloupe (cut in cubes)
- 2 cups strawberries (diced)
- 2 cups ice
- Nutri Bullet (Optional)
- Add strawberries to food processor or blender. Blend it until very smooth. Refrigerate.
- Add half cantaloupe in blender and blend it until smooth.Refrigerate.
- Add other half of cantaloupe and 2 cups of ice and bend it on high speed until smooth and mix it with the first half of cantaloupe.
- Serve it layered in high glass, garnish withe strawberries.
We always have lots of fruits as my boys rather eat fruits than vegetables. Well, I am sure I am not alone with this statement.
I think my next creation will be watermelon and cantaloupe slushie… that should make a nice combo as well.
Here some other wonderful, non alcoholic summer drinks. Enjoy them until the weather is beautiful.
And some with alcohol added:-)
What is your favorite summer drink?
I am glad you stopped by today! Hope you have an awesome day!
**Update: This fantastic slushie recipe was published in SWEET DREAMS magazine in Germany – May of 2015.**
