SIMPLE SWEET CREAM recipe

Sharing is caring!

Today I am sharing my simple sweet cream recipe!

Did I ever tell you how much I LOOOOVVVEEE my coffee?! I mean- truly I can not live without coffee. I generally have several cups a day beginning with one cup to wake me up! So, it’s probably no big surprise I am sharing one of my favorite ways to make my coffee rich and sweet with this Horizon Organic Half & Half I picked up at Target today.

If you’ve tried my recipes before you know I don’t like things super sweet. I will also share with you today that I just don’t care for flavored creamers.  I do like to add a touch of sugar to my coffee, (usually latte) it is soooo annoying when I get distracted and don’t add the sugar when my coffee is hot HOT. No one wants to see a layer of sugar at the bottom of the coffee cup when you’ve already downed the whole barley sweetened cup… right!?

This Simple Sweet Cream is the perfect amount of sweet- no added flavors- and the sugar is already dissolved before I even go to add it. Win-win, baby!

Since we are on the subject of coffee… I used to have a pretty standard Keurig Machine which I used multiple times a day. I thought my husband was crazy when he talked about replacing it! But, you know how we have to choose our battles with our husbands- and he won this one. We purchased a kind of fancy espresso and coffee machine combo and, OH my gosh! It is so good!! I have friends randomly drop by just for a cup and really- it might have made my habit even worse because it tastes so good.

So let’s get to the point and my simple sweet cream recipe!

The simplest sweet cream to add to your coffee or fruit and oatmeal!
Ingredients
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4. c. water
  • 1 c. Horizon half & half
Instructions
  1. Place your sugar and water in a saucepan over high heat.
  2. Bring to a boil and stir continuously until all of the sugar is dissolved- about 3 minutes.
  3. Allow sugar water (syrup) to cool.
  4. Combine syrup with milk and stir or whisk to combine well.

You can totally multiply this recipe if you’d like to make more at one time. It stays fresh for about 1 week- 10 days. I would just not keep it past that.

I also couldn’t manage to get out of Target without a mini splurge for this completely gorgeous Stoneware Mallorca Mug 24oz –  from Opalhouse™! Do you love it!?
