Today’s post will show my current fall living room decor and some fall decor ideas for you to get into fall decorating mode.

Eclectic living room decor with blue chairs, wood logs and lots of textures

I am part of the Seasonal Simplicity series that my sweet friend, Krista from the Happy Housie hosts. If you are coming from Hallstrom Home, welcome! I haven’t shared home decor here on the blog for a long time, so it feels great to see a few things that have changed around in the house.

I love to decorate for the season, but I don’t necessarily like to spend dollars on unnecessary things. My idea for this season’s home decor was to bring in nature and create a cozy feel by not using pumpkins inside my home for this fall. Inspiration always comes from the outdoors when I decorate. By adding differnet textures I can make our home look that creates warmth and layeres.

Fall living room decor

When it comes to fall color we all think about oranges and browns. Of course the beautiful fall folaige has a lot to do with that color inspiration. I started my seasonal decor change by rearranging the Built-in shelves.

I took off a few things, and I love how spacious and open the shelves are now. I also added wood logs ( which are just for decor purposes, as I have an electric fireplace!) just for the look. I am a big fan of bringing nature inside. When fall arrives, I think of bonfires and chilly nights, and I think the wood logs bring in lots of fall feels.

Built in shelves with wooden accessories

I also added some clipped-off branches from the backyard. The easiest HOME DECOR I use every season. Branches from the garden. Simple as that! I dressed up my mantel with a large wooden vase without using any other accessories. The warm wood colors makes a nice fall color palette.

I also changed the main rug in the living room to a less colorful, solid-colored one. I like a pop of color in every room, so I added my runner from the hallway.

I like the different look with the runner going across on the top of the main rug. My blue chairs are still on my favorites list. They are super comfy and chic.

Colorful vintage rug and blue modern chairs

Those blue chairs are still going strong on my favorites list. A large basket with a blanket and extra pillows cozy up the fireplace area.

Added some moody throw pillows on my leather sofa ( that I already had on hand from last year) to bring the room together.

My coffee table had some bowls to showcase and my baskets were filled with throw blankets.

Leather couch with earthy tone pillows

I always think you can get creative to make your house look different or freshened by shopping for your home. Challenge yourself and create a new look for the season,

And look at my sweet Boomer. I couldn’t finish this post up without showing up his puppy face! His color is perfect for my home decor.
