Amazing camper renovation with brown woodsy features, rustic chairs and colorful rugs.

Before we get into the details of what we changed and DIY-ed in this camper, let’s look at what this camper looked like when we bought it in September 2021. When we decided to travel more, we also agreed to upgrade to a fifth wheel from the pull-behind camper we traveled with for the first year. The makeover for that trailer will always be in my heart. Small spaces definitely grew big on me!

White interior for a large fifth wheel camper.

We bought a 2021 Forest River Crusader. It was not an old camper; in fact – it was brand new! It had a beautiful white interior – which I loved a lot. It also had an island-style kitchen and a tall ceiling! The inside was very simple, and I knew that sooner or later, we would change things around.

Let’s look at our camper renovation with style!

DIY wooden bar table for a camper. There are vintage bar stools to go with it.

Living Space

One of the first things we wanted to change in this camper was to add a workstation in exchange for the oversized bulky pull-out sofa. We DIYed the bar table, and it turned out exactly what I envisioned. We share meals there and sit down to work on our laptops. And you know what’s the best part about it? Our view of the backyard is constantly changing!:-)

If you noticed, we changed out all the light fixtures in our camper. And it makes a huge the space feel so different. Like a new RV! When you full-time RV it is important to make the space yours, I think. Interior design has always been my passion and it is not any different while traveling the country.

We dug out the oversized dinette and the two recliners to add this deep lounge couch with deep cushions to our living area. Seriously the BEST decision we ever made. This three-piece sectional will comfortably seat our family of four, Boomer the golden doodle, and Abby, our tabby cat, can snuggle with us for a cozy movie night.

I added washable rugs ( and I LOVE them!) to our living area since it’s a high traffic area, and it is super helpful to have a rug that I can throw in my washing machine.

Large TV with macrame garland underneath in camper's living space.

We have a large TV in our living room with a cozy fireplace. We use the fireplace to warm our space in the colder months. I added the orange floral drapes (just love that fabric!) for visual decor. ( they are from World Market- I could not find a link to them)

Baskets (from Amazon) are my go-to when it comes to storage. It’s a great way to hide and organize things that would otherwise be lying around.

How about our cat area? It has the litter box and her food bowl ( separated by a piece of wood).

Camper Kitchen Area

Camper kitchen with paper brick backsplash.

Believe it or not, I have everything I need in this tiny kitchen. Like EVERYTHING. Totally love the island space and the residential oven- although 90% of the time, I cook outside using my HALO Pizza Oven and HALO Griddle.:-)

I use magnetic hooks to hold things I grab and use often. We added paper brick wallpaper (from the Dollar Store!!), and it looks so good! Almost look like stick subway tile.

I posted about our mini RV bathroom makeover a few months ago. It’s one of my favorite spaces. The peel and stick wallpaper and the cabinet color below the sink just make me happy every time I step in here.

The bedroom has a king-size bed and a walk-in closet. Yup! Annndd… Behind the closed doors, there is a washer and dryer.:-) RVers dream!

And last but not least our hallway…

The hallway holds bags, hats, and things we use often on a daily. It also displays some of our favorite places in pictures.

We added bunks to the boys’ room, but I have not taken any photos yet- will update this post once I have a good pic.:-)

An RV renovation is always a big project, even though you work with small spaces. We love the adventure that comes with it, though.
