Sharing is caring!

Macrame Ornaments! How many different macrame projects there are? So many… and YES! You might have noticed my obsession with macrame projects. I just simply love them all and when there is a new DIY opportunity, I try to use up my scrap cords. Why not, right?

This is how these cute and creative ornaments were born.

Last week I shared my Driftwood Macrame Christmas Wreath which was part of a fun blog hop. and today’s project is also part of a blog hop, hosted by Krista at The Happy Housie. Get ready! YOu will be able to check out 20 amazing and creative Christmas Ornaments that you can easily recreate at home.

Back to my Macrame Ornaments…

I will show you four different styles of Macrame Ornaments. I promise all of them are easy to make even if you have never tried macrame EVER in your life.

If you have extra time and want to start from the very beginning, be sure to watch a short video in my BASIC MACRAME KNOTS post. It would help you to understand the basics of macrame.

Then you can check out my Macrame Wall Hanging, the Macrame floating Shelf, the Macrame Fall Wreath for inspiration before you start working on these cute ornaments.

Materials you need for the Macrame Ornaments

  1. Macrame Cords ( I use THESE!)
  2. Scissors
  3. Curtain Ring

To make it easier to follow I put together a short clip so you can see exactly what my hands are doing. Enjoy!

What do you think? Will you hang some macrame ornaments on your tree this year? I sure hope so!

Let me know what other macrame tutorial would you want to see from me and I will get on it!

  1. These are cute, and I tried to make the second ornament, but the video was so fast and the instructions were on the screen so briefly that I was left with more questions than answers. I rewinded 5 or 6 times and still couldn’t see everything she did and how she did it. I wish she had done it at a normal pace that was easy to follow and been more specific with the instructions. For example, it looks that there is something at the top of the ornament to hang it by, a tack or ring or something? But she didn’t say what it is or how to attach it. I wish there were written instructions suitable for very beginners.
